Enter ‘Ancestors’ Db

Ray's genealogical database ‘Ancestors’ is mostly French-Canadian except for a little Irish (Cassidy, Ryan & McDonald) and a very little Scotch (Hamilton - Hambleton). Most of Ray's ancestors left France to arrive in New France (Québec, Canada) during the 17th Century. The genealogies of these French-Canadian ancestors is complete and members of their families are being entered now. Five of these ancestors (Mathieu d'Amours, Mathieu Amiot, Jacques Guéret, Toussaint Ledran and Julien-Charles Sévigny) are descended from French nobility and French and European royalty. Most of these noble families originate from Normandie (Normandy) or Bretagne (Brittany). Some of this genealogy has been done but not all of it has been entered into the database yet. This is another area which is currently being worked on.

The database ‘Ancestors’ contains over 11,400 people, 2,400 surnames and goes back 52 generations.

The sources given in the database, e.g. [10], can be looked up in the sources section except those which are given by a letter, e.g. [a], can be found in the links section under Royalty and Nobility Research Links.
