Yes, it has been a long time since Ray's Place has been updated but a lot has been done. Ray's Place now meets web standards for 'XHTML 1.0 Strict' and complies with Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act guidelines. The HOME page has been revised to work better with the search engines.
The following new content has been added:
Ancestral Lines which include the royalty of Jacques Guéret dit Dumont have been added and the other lines have been updated.
New Royalty and Nobility Research Links have been added which correspond to some of the references in the database.
1,500 additional ancestors have been added to the database 'Ancestors' and now total over 8,300.
15 new Surname Quick Links have been added and now total 30.
The next major project for Ray's Place is adding all the descendants of Ozanie-Joseph Nadeau complete through 1799 and many marriages beyond this. It is hoped this would make Ray's Place the un-official NADEAU website.

The website redesign has been nearly completed and is designed to comply with the latest web standards. Both the markup and CSS validate with the W3C. Accessibilty for the disabled has to be completed.
The only new content which has been added is some of the links to other genealogical websites. More will be added. As time permits, articles will be added. Additional ancestors have been added to the database and now number over 6800. Work is still being done on the families of the filles du roi and should be completed soon.

The server has been upgraded and is about two and one half times faster. All the software, with the exception of GeneWeb, has also been upgraded to the current stable versions. This should decrease the time it takes to load the web pages of the website.
New content has been added. This includes an excellent article by Ivan Robinson, “The Irish in Canada And On the Internet,” an About page which describes the website, web standards and the software used to run it, a brief history and table for the filles du roi or King’s Daughters and the Carignan Salières Regiment, and a new line has been added for the Guéret royal gateway.
There is still a little more work to be done on the website itself which should be completed soon. There are a couple of articles which will be added. One is about the new Guéret royal gateway and the other one deals with the relationships between all French-Canadians. Also, more people are continuously being added to the database. The families of the filles du roi are being added right now.

Ray’s Place is being completly redone and is about half completed. This rework involves both the presentation and content. The presentation will remain as it is now with the exception of a new header. The new content which has been added includes this news page and the ancestral line pages. Some of the new content is included on the menu but has not been completed.
The database ‘Ancestors’ will remain as is but will be displayed next to the menu as part of Ray’s Place.
Another area which will be added is the links to other genealogical sites. The Cassidy Clan website is listed now and is well worth checking out, especially if you are a Cassidy.
